Grading system in India
The grading system was proposed to actually evaluate the student’s performance academically. This grading system uses techniques to assess a child's grasping ability and responding capabilities.
Earlier, the Indian education system used to only depend on the marks scored by the student in the exam in order to assess their capability. But in the year 2009, this process had changed. The national level education board - CBSE decided to remove the percentage system grading. Therefore, the new grading system started in India.
The grading system was introduced in India so as to be on par with the international range of grades. Another reason being to reduce the pressure on the students regarding the marks and percentage. The marks which were allotted in the old system were directly focusing on the quantity.
The new grading system focused mainly on the student's ability to in understanding the concepts therefore, the grading system has become a very important thing for effective education system in India.
Reasons why the new grading system is highly recommended:
Firstly, the grading system in India was highly needed to remove the increasing pressure on the students related to examination. The different categories involved in the grading system are:
Internal assignments
Classroom project
Answering ability
These all activities remove the monotony of the education style.
The grading systems will enable us to find the weakness and strengths in different students.
This gives a chance to the teacher who focus on the weak areas of the child and provide the right guidance to them and also to improve the bright students.
By this system children can identify the weak areas and make a better version of themselves.
What is GPA?
