Teacher eligibility test
Teacher eligibility examination commonly known as TET is conducted so that the eligibility of candidates to be appointed as teachers is determined at both the central and state levels. The government authorities conduct the teacher eligibility test.
Teacher eligibility test is conducted in order to shortlist the candidates so as to appoint them as teachers. The guidelines for conducting the test are issued by the National Council for Teacher Education. The Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) conducts The CTET (Central Teacher eligibility test) at the national level. At the state level, every state conduct TET every year.

TET notification
TET exams are conducted at the national and state levels once or twice every year. Firstly, the official notification is released. This official notification gives the information to the candidates and familiarizes with the entire examination process.

The notification is released by the conducting authority. CBSE releases the CTET notification AP TET notification is released by Andhra Pradesh government. UP TET notification is released by UP government similarly for the other states TET.
Process of applying for TET exam
Firstly, the candidates need to apply online or offline mode for the TET exam by filling up the application form. The candidates who successfully submit the TET application form can only appear for the TET exam. To submit the form online, the candidate has to pay for the application fee. CTET application form is released by the CBSE and TET application form is released by the state governments.

Intermediate passing certificate
Diploma in education or B.Ed. pass certificate.
Valid photo ID proof.
Passport size photograph.
Category or caste certificate.
Disability certificate, if any.
Eligibility criteria for writing TET exam
In order to write the TET exam, the candidate should fulfil the following eligibility criteria. TET eligibility criteria may differ from state to state, but the basic criteria remain the same for all the states which are given below:
Candidate should have completed intermediate or graduation from a recognised University with the minimum percentage of 45.
Candidates should have completed Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education or any teacher training program.
Candidate should be minimum 18 years of age.
There is no upper age limit for CTET for TET exams.

How to prepare for Tet 2021? What is the syllabus and exam pattern?
To prepare for the TET, we should know the exam pattern and the syllabus which is officially declared by the exam conducting body. The TET paper consists of two papers paper 1 and paper 2.
Paper 1 is for the candidates who plan to teach classes 1 to 5 and paper 2 is conducted for the candidates who want to teach 6 to 8 classes. The paper will differ as per the subject chosen by the candidate the number of questions to be attempted are 150 objective type multiple choice questions which comprise of 150 marks. The time duration given to complete TET paper is 150 minutes or two and a half hours.

Procedure to check the TET exam result
After appearing for the exam, the candidates can check the result from the official website. Generally, the result is posted in PDF format containing the following details like:
Name of the examination.
Name of the paper
Candidate’s name
Roll number of candidate
Marks obtained in subjects
Total marks or scores
Qualifying status

The aspirants are appearing for TET exam to obtain eligibility for teacher recruitment to the following post like:
Primary teachers -PRT for classes 1 to 5.
Trained graduate teachers -TGT for classes 6 to 10.
Post graduate - PGT for classes 11 to 12
Qualifying marks
To qualify for the TET exam the candidate should obtain the minimum marks which are given as:
General category candidates should obtain 60% that is, 90 out of 150 marks.
SC ST OBC category candidates should obtain 55% that is, 82 out of 150 marks.
Validity of TET exam
The candidates who qualify for the eligibility criteria, the certificate is now valid for lifetime. The NCTE in June 2021, extended the test certificate validity to lifetime.
